バークリー音大を首席で卒業。バディー・リッチ楽団の一員として全米の旅、その後ゲーリー・バートンカルテットのメンバーとして世界の旅へ。ボストンミュージックアワード、ビクターヒット賞等、数多くの賞を受賞。トニー・ベネット、マイク・スターン、ビル・フリゼール、パット・メセニー、ブランフォード・マルサリス、デイブ・リーブマン、ジョージ・ラッセル等と活動。ジャック・ディジョネット、ヴィンス・カリウタ、デイブ・ホーランド、ケニー・バロン、ピーター・アースキン等と録音しJVC ビクターから７枚のリーダーアルバムを発売。2014年外務大臣表彰受賞。2016年日本を代表し浜松市でのユネスコ音楽祭にて雅楽アンサンブルと共演。現在バークリー音楽大学教授。レコーディングプロデューサーとしても活躍中。

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, pianist George W. Russell Jr. is a performer, composer, and educator.
George currently serves as Chair of the Harmony and Jazz Composition Department at the Berklee College of Music. Prior to that, he served as a professor of harmony and piano. He has been awarded the Ted Pease Award for Excellence in Teaching, along with the Curriculum Development Award. He has also been recognized with the highest award that Berklee gives to faculty, the Most Distinguished Faculty Award. George’s motto is, “I would rather inspire than require.”
George’s performances range from solo piano to a groove-oriented jazz trio to a soulful, fresh-sounding larger ensemble that arouses the listener’s intellect and, most importantly, touches their soul. His playing is filled with passion, fire, soul, and spirit.
George has performed with Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Ernie Isley, Cecil McBee, Semenya McCord, Bob Moses, Tiger Okoshi, Billy Pierce, Richard Smallwood, Lenny White and Yoron Israel.
George has 9 recordings to his credit including the most recent release of “Reimagined”. It includes 14 arrangements of some of George’s Favorite Spirituals and Hymns through his musical lens.

Mark Walker (b. 1961) is a Grammy/Latin Grammy Award-winning drummer, a Grammy Awardnominated composer, and a renowned author and educator originally from Chicago. He is one of the only American drummers equally at home with performing authentic South American and Caribbean rhythms, jazz, rock, funk and studio and big band drumming.
Since 1989, he has performed around the world, touring extensively and/or recording with the group Oregon (with Ralph Towner), Paquito D’Rivera, Lyle Mays, Michel Camilo, Cesar Camargo Mariano, Randy Brecker, Arturo Sandoval, Steve Khan, Mike Mainieri, Andy Narell, Eliane Elias, the NDR big band, the WDR big band, the HR big band and the Caribbean Jazz Project. He is heard on eight albums with the group Oregon, eight albums with the Caribbean Jazz Project, and on fifteen albums by Paquito D’Rivera.
He released his critically acclaimed debut solo album in 2019 entitled “You Get What You Give,” featuring Paquito D’Rivera, Alain Mallet, Oscar Stagnaro and many others. He has also produced music for independent film soundtracks and maintains Coolidge Hill Studio in Massachusetts.
As an educator has taught at Berklee College of Music and Berklee Online since 2001 and New England Conservatory since 2021. In 2024 he created an online educational mentorship program for drummers, “The World Jazz Drumming Experience,” based on his instructional book World Jazz Drumming.
Walker is a Yamaha, Paiste, Vic Firth, Remo, Meinl and Prologix artist. He holds a BPA in Professional Studies from Berklee College of Music and an MM in Jazz Composition/Arranging from UMass Amherst.

教育者として、2001 年からバークリー音楽大学とバークリー オンラインで、2021 年からはニューイングランド音楽院で教鞭をとる。2024 年、自身の教則本「World Jazz Drumming」に基づき、ドラマー向けのオンライン教育指導プログラム「The World Jazz Drumming Experience」を作成。
ヤマハ、パイステ、ビックファース、レモ、マイネル、プロロジックスのアーティスト。バークリー音楽大学でBPA（学士）を取得し、マサチューセッツ大学アマースト校でジャズ作曲/編曲のMM（修士）を取得。

2006年、ボストンのバークリー音楽大学タイアップの「北海道グルーブキャンプ」を受講し、優秀賞を受賞。2010年、テリ・リン・キャリントンが指揮するバークリー・サマー・ジャズ・ワークショップのメンバーに選抜され参加。2011 年にバークリー音楽大学入学。卒業後はニューヨークに拠点に活動。2016年から 4年間、テレビ朝日系「報道ステーション」のテーマ曲を所属するバンド「J-Squad」で担当し、同バンドで2枚のアルバムをリリース。2020年に帰国後はリーダー・プロジェクトに主軸に置き、これまでに『Storyteller』(2020年)、 『Gathering』(2022年)の2枚のリーダー・アルバムをリリース。2023年公開のアニメーション映画『BLUE GIANT』(音楽：上原ひろみ)にて、主人公・宮本大のサックス演奏を担当。また、ルイス・コールのバンドの一員として 国内外のツアーに参加するほか、マーク・ジュリアナ、マカヤ・マクレイヴン、 マーキス・ヒル、ユリシス・オーエンス・ジュニア、ベン・ウェンデルなど世界各国のミュージシャンとのコラボレーションイベント「BaBaBar」をオーガナイズしている。2024年メジャーデビューアルバムとなる『ELECTRIC RIDER』をリリース。
